Washington D.C.

We drove through Washington D.C. on our way to Virginia Beach. The traffic was atrocious all the way there so we didn't arrive until 10:00 p.m. We found a parking spot, our umbrellas, rounded up the children and made the trek up to the Lincoln memorial in pouring rain. This led to a great discussion on the civil war and slavery, culminating with the question, "Mom, were you alive when Lincoln died?" The city was absolutely beautiful, all lit up and glistening. The children, not so glistening after a day in the car. I think they did enjoy it, and I hope they remember the city and not our extreem frustration with them. Ahhhhh......this is what memories are made of.

Summer House

It has rained almost 4 days a week all summer here. As a result, our flowers are all huge! Trevor and I divided and replanted a lot this spring and the results were fantastic! It makes me want to go through all the effort again next spring!

A trip to the Zoo

We are making good use of the Zoo tickets that Kari and Ryan gave us! Today was a perfect zoo day-75 degrees with a nice breeze. Cheryl and the boys on the train.

Halle and Connor really enjoyed the butterfly house. Or the "flutterfly" house as Halle says. Her word makes more sense.
Dad- Here is an interesting birdhouse for you. I think you could incorporate the tile mosaic into your next one:).

Father's Day

I am so thankful for you Trevor. You are a wonderful father to our children. You make life exciting, fun, and you make everything seem possible. We love you so much! Happy Father's day!

Soccer

Dillon and Connor both played soccer this spring. Unfortunately, due to my downloading ignorance, I only have pictures of Dillon. I will have to get some of Connor from someone else. They both learned a lot about the game and being on a team. They also learned about the committment it takes to be on a team. It was fun watching them improve each week. Their appetites and their stamina really improved as a result of soccer.

The Talent Show

Dillon performed in his first Talent Show. He has been taking lessons for 3 months.

More April

Some more April pictures....Mom and Dad came to visit us this month. We had great weather and were able to enjoy the great outdoors. Dad and I also took the Ford Rouge Factory Tour, which was very interesting! Thanks for coming, Mom and Dad, we loved having you, as always! Halle and Connor enjoying some morning snuggle time.
We took my Mom and Dad on our favorite nature trail. These little blue flowers were poking through the forest floor.Halle was feeling very pouty over not being able to follow a dog she made friends with.

Grandpa Pow, Halle, Grandma Marie and Connor taking a little break.

Grandma and Halle. Halle wasn't too sure about the hiking stick that Connor required everyone to have. Of course his stick quickly morphed into a sword.

Halle practicing with Grandma on the "big girl swing".

Cheryl and Halle

Daddy and Halle. I've had requests for more Halle pictures....hopefully this catches you up a little. She is growing up so fast!

I liked how she was leaning on Connor here. Halle really loves her brothers. Every morning when she wakes up she says, "Connor?, Diddy?" to see who is home that day.

This has been her favorite thing to do lately. She works very hard to put all the marker covers on her hands and then walks around the house with them on. As a result of this fun activity we have many dried out markers!:)
